Distracted Media announce new Crowd Fund Movie for torrents release
Distracted Media, who previously gave us The Tunnel, have announced a new Crowd Funding initiative in order to raise $100K for their next movie.
Guess we all dug The Tunnel are are eagerly awaiting the sequel, in the meantime Distracted haven't been, well distracted, they have forge ahead with a couple of other projects that have definitely caught our eye.
Event Zero, a web series involving seven stories set around the same inner city train derailment, has been doing the web movie circuit and in the processing garnering a whole bunch of awards. Distracted are in the forefront of developing new distribution and financing methods which isn't sitting well with the establishment. Anyways episode 1 below, and catch up with the rest on Youtube folks.
Distracted are already at work on their next feature length movie titled Airlock. The movie is described as being heavily influenced by Alien, The Thing, and Distract 9. The plot outline ScaryMinds received today certainly sounds like we'd be interested; " a mysterious spacecraft that docks with a remote space station, triggering an investigation that leads to a deadly series of events". Distracted are aiming for Crowd Funding with the movie eventually available via torrents download or disc purchase, just like The Tunnel.
For those wanting to help out click here, donations start at a minimum of $1 AUD. ScaryMinds is in the process of denoting $10 to the movie, which is about all we have in the budget. At this stage Tony Abbott hasn't pledge to match donations dollar for dollar, or to do anything for the Independent Australian Movie Industry.
