So Osgood Perkins is a pretty demented guy based on his body of work, which is a good thing, with his latest outing The Monkey hitting Australian cinemas this weekend, in a well needed horror boost. The original idea came from the mind of Stephen King, and comes to us via a reworking by Perkins, looking to add a lot more humour to the mix than King injected in his original story, published in his collection Skeleton Crew (1982).

We're expecting an average result Downunder, Perkins isn't known much beyond horror circles, however the involvement of King might get a few extra bums on seats as the master story teller is a drawcard. No one from SM has had a chance to catch the movie yet, but we are expecting a splatter punk delight with touchs of humour as the body count mounts. Figures cross things rock.
