The Cure are an English band formed in Crawley in 1976 by Robert Smith (vocals, guitar) and Lol Tolhurst (drums). During their career the Band have moved from post punk through Goth to Pop, with frequent returns to earlies musical stylings. Their 1980 album Seventeen Seconds, and in particular the single A Forest proved
to be the Band's breakout to mainstream acceptance.
