Alien: Earth trailer 2 has dropped adding further insight into one of my my anticipated television series of the year. There are a number of problems already in evidence that might seriously impact the show. Noah Hawley has stated that the show is set around the time of Cameron's Aliens, which shows Hawley has no idea of the timelines as the trailers and official site place the events squarely in the year 2120, while Aliens is set in 2179, and in fact the events of Alien occur in 2122. So events in Alien: Earth happened after Covenant and before Alien, which leads crediance to the theory that the Weyland Yutani corporation were well aware of the Xenomorphs existance prior to the demise of the Nostromo.
My second issue, and something that no one seems to be addressing, is Wendy might be a synthetic but she has the expierances and thoughts of a young girl, would you put a 13 year old chick in charge of a mission that is highly dangerous? I'm not entirely sure Noah Hawley has really thought this one out, it appears he has limited understanding of the franchise and is going to Girl Boss it, which will be a complete disaster.
At least the effects have improved from the first teaser trailer, which might indicate they were still rendering when that teaser trailer hit the net. Things are now looking good in my sordid opinion and we are finally talking working space ships, realistic settings, and futuristic cities. Sign me onboard for that background to what amounts to a Monster series. The series is promised to drop on 13th August on D+ Downunder, not entirely sure it will drive new revenue for the House of Mouse, but certainly has me renewing my subscription.
