Back in December 2024 Alien: Rogue Incursion was released as an immersive VR experience on PlayStation VR2 and PCVR via Steam. The game was an instant hit among those with access to VR but remained out of us average gamers reach. Well happy days are here friends and neighbours Alien: Rouge Incursion - Part One: Evolved Edition is set to drop on PC and PlayStation 5 on 30th September 2025 and we are being promised even deadlier Xenomorphs and enhanced visuals. Is this the follow up to Alien: Isolation we have all been pleading for or will it be another Colonial Marines?
The game is a first person shooter crossed with survival horror, yay! The player adopts the role of ex-Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks who needs to explore a base on the uncharted planet Purdan, in order to rescue her mate Carver, naturally some nefarious experimentation with Xenomorphs was being conducted, and the base is infested. If you have been digging into the wider Alien universe then Zula Hendricks is instantly recognisable and she even has her synthetic sidekick Davis along for the ride.
From the limited gameplay I have seen the game is definitely in the Alien: Isolation mode, but without the hiding and avoiding of Xenos, you get to use a pulse rifle like it is going out of fashion. Not having got to any depth in Rogue Incursion I would image there's a lot of surprises in store for the player. Game is looking good folks, definitely digging into this one in due course.
